If you're looking for answers to some garage door related questions, we got you covered. We've assembled the following FAQs in order to provide our customers with some useful information that will help them take better care of their overhead door system.
Do I need a lock on my garage door?
If your door has an electric automatic opener, a lock may not be necessary because the door can only be opened with the opener and it’s unlikely an intruder would be able to open the door. In fact, if the door is accidentally locked and someone tries to run the opener, it could damage the door. If you don’t have an electric opener, a lock is recommended.
My garage door spring is broken. Can I repair it myself?
The spring and balance system generates a tremendous amount of torque because it is a counter-balance to the weight of the door, which can be in excess of 300 pounds. Whether they are torsion or extension springs, the potential energy generated by the spring can cause injury. As a result, it’s best to call a professional to handle the repair or replacement of springs.
